Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which are able to be removed and then reinserted.

Insignias or enchantments, as well as upgrades with prefixes or suffixes will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. a Radiant Insignia will change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item will display the number of upgrade components that have been added to it.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, such as ligatures, fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. Selecting the Glyphs and then clicking "enchant" will activate them. This will bring up a window that displays the Glyphs available to you. You are only able to apply the appropriate Glyph to the item upgrading you are looking for. Each weapon, jewelry, or armor piece comes with a distinct collection of Glyphs.

You can upgrade your Glyphs by working through Tree of Whisper Quests or Nightmare Dungeons. The more difficult a Dungeon is, the more Glyph experience you will gain. Once a Glyph has reached level 15 it can be upgraded using the Glyph Upgrade Altar. Upgrades to a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.

After a Glyph reaches the desired level you can activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The resulting Glyph will give its stated bonus, and also boost other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. It is important to place glyphs where they will be most beneficial to your build, and this is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Some glyphs, however, may offer dual bonuses when certain conditions are fulfilled which is why they're worth checking out for.

If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph, click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a number of perspectives. Each of these views shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the list of glyphs you want to see by selecting an option below "Entire Font". For example, punctuation is only displayed in punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the options to mathematical symbols.
