WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current Best item upgrade level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with several new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader kit upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
