The upgrading of your items is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase the damage of your item and enchantments.

They also offer bonus effects and improvements. They can be acquired from the Blacksmith.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Every recycled item upgrader mod adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapons

When a weapon is upgraded, it will gain a base damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. The weapon could also gain a variety of upgrade components that provide additional features or effects, and some have unique cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools. They generally require that the item upgrading is equipped with an upgrade slot and meet certain specifications. When a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, it can be upgraded with a different one however the previous upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be recovered using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or a high-tier salvaging tool on an Best item upgrade.

A weapon can also be upgraded to include a Calibration attribute that increases certain stats, such as Weakspot damage or Crit Rate. This is done through the Gear Workbench interaction menu. This can be done four times, based on weapon level.

Once the weapon has reached its maximum upgrade, it can then be modified to give different bonuses and effects or improve specific stats. These upgrades can all be applied simultaneously, and their effects will depend on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game who can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area as well as Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the type of damage that a weapon inflicts.

Generally, it is recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, followed by armor defense, and finally the other secondary stats as required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon prior to any other gear, since this can increase DPS. This is especially relevant to enchantments that can be very effective in boosting the damage of a weapon and other stats.

Armor

Item upgrades allow players to boost the performance of certain weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades can also bring additional effects, for example, an increase in damage or a cosmetic enhancement. Item Upgrades can be obtained through crafting, buying from NPC vendors, through loot drops or as rewards for quests.

Armor can be improved by visiting the Armorer NPC, and spending the appropriate currency. Most of the time, a piece of armor will be upgraded to next level after an upgrade is applied. This is possible for all types of armor, however certain items are not upgradeable in any way (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).

Most armor upgrades increase the item's strength or defense by only a tiny amount. However, certain upgrade components can offer significant increases to strength or defense, especially when upgrading an item that is epic.

Certain upgrades offer special abilities which can be activated when wearing armor. These abilities can be extremely beneficial in combat. For example they can increase attack speed or block. Certain upgrades also have passive effects, for instance reducing the amount of damage sustained while wearing armor or adding the ability to deflect attacks.

Upgrades to armor could require multiple attempts, depending on the type of armor. If a player wants to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale and the first attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor with a defense base between 59-67. The second attempt would result in a new Dragonscale armor with a base defense between 67-77, and the list goes on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do this it is necessary to visit each of the four locations referred to as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations houses the power of a fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.

Contrary to popular belief, armor is not useless in The Division 2. The truth is that some armors have very significant increases in poison or curse, fire or magic damage reduction, making them invaluable for certain types of builds. Additionally, there are ways to improve armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor, such as the engineer trait to boost armor penetration, or the challenger trait that reduces total weight.

Potion

By putting a potion in the brewing stand, you can unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks another tier of potion effects, and can be re-used for more potencies.

The potions also gain the ability to select a custom color that can be selected by the player via the /give. The color will affect the effect clouds' area-of-effect as well as the arrows generated. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion colour also applies to the particle effects of the potions.

The water bottle, a common, thick and awkward potions now have a new texture for brewing. Add potion of weakness and healing potion in the Creative inventory. In addition, there are lingering potions that can be prepared by using splash potions or Dragon breath. Also included is a thick potion which has the status effect Mining Fatigue. Trinket

A trinket is a small ornament that is inexpensive or a piece of jewelry. It could be a necklace or ring. Or, it could be a tiny banner that marks the lateen yard of a boat. It could also refer to a gold-plated trinket on the mast of a ship.

This bizarre trinket appears to be influencing the denizens of this maze and making them more popular. At its current level it makes all kinds of mimic Xx more common, and gives each floor an X% chance of having an ebony mimic. Upgrades to this trinket require a small amount of energy.

The magic from the enchanted scepter is believed to affect the dungeon itself which makes it more likely to generate grass and water. At its current level this trinket will make X% of the floors fill with water or grass, but it doesn't affect enchantments, symbols, cursed weapons or armor, or items that are created to aid in the elimination of hazards.

The item upgrader kit, which appears like eyes of a newt is believed to affect your vision in a way that goes beyond merely narrowing your field of vision. At the moment, this trinket can increase the total health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X% and gives you vision on enemies within Y tiles. This trinket does not stack with the Heightened Senses.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You can find them after defeating Monsters and in chests and crates. They are not found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

Place the trinket in the Anvil whenever it is required to be upgraded. This will cause a random impact on the trinket either increasing its duration or strengthening its effects. You can reforge the Trinket multiple times as often as you wish, however it will always have an impact that is different from the one that it had when you forged it.

You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst located at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy and boost the trinket's power by only a tiny amount.
