WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from Item Upgrader - Vuf.Minagricultura.Gov.Co, NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade item cost depends on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
