What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Some upgrades also give you an additional random boost in addition to stat boosts. These boosts can be quite important and should be considered when deciding on which items to upgrade. Certain of these boosts may only be used in certain builds (such the Whistan's Shield in FB Sorcs), while others are beneficial to collectors.

Certain items come with inherent boos that are less beneficial when upgraded, like the Goldwrap which gives more slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to add value to an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.

Costs

There are a few expenses related to upgrades of items. The most significant cost is the upgrade itself. It can be costly and depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number perks it gains. It is also costly to upgrade an item upgrade to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of items needed to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours depending on the size of an upgrade. The base stats of the upgraded item are calculated based on its new ilvl as well as other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In certain cases the upgrade will provide additional perks that can be selected from a list of perks.

Rarely, the benefits obtained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the highest-cost perks. You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are shown in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the likelihood of an upgrade succeeding. This item is useful if your weapon or piece is nearing or has reached the highest level of its level. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without worrying about breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful, it will be reverted to its initial state. This is usually a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. Save an upgrade until you reach the highest level for an item upgrader mod.

The higher the rank, the more zen and the items you'll need to upgrade it.

The system is expensive particularly if you are looking for top-quality gear. It could cost as high as 100,000 z and 100 Carnium to upgrade a weapon or armor.
