What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

A transparent device that allows certain Pokemon species evolve. It was created by Silph Co.

The item upgrader is an additional widget to the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager is a cost of 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

There are a myriad of boosts you can get with an upgrader. These can include a variety of stats, in addition to numerous bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons and trinkets. Some items have a built-in boos which is less useful when upgraded. For instance the Goldwrap offers an additional potion slots. These are often upgraded to add more value to a nearly perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades come with some associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. The cost is based on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the price of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). These materials are available in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item bonus, perks, as well as other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some cases, the upgrade will grant additional advantages that can be picked from a list of available advantages.
