World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item upgrader mod using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high chance that the item upgrade could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade items elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Using the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to improve the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader mod has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by the new item. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade item slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
