The upgrade option allows players to boost the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to improve their performance. This will increase the defense base of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the more health you can gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to focus on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the Item Upgrader Kit's rarity as well as Mark Level.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a function but is not particularly important like a trinket. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. In contrast to other upgrades for items, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the old one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players must also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying new ones.
