1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't clean in areas you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that appears like an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots can't do this. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the ideal choice. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your best home vacuum cleaner at the same time. They also come with various additional features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like tables and walls which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper self-cleaning robot vacuums vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It features a large LCD screen which is helpful for setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the best robot hoover in the industry however it's quite expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling feature is the way it automatizes various tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do an excellent job of collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and best robot vacuums vacuum that's worth the higher price price.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and plenty of room for it to move around, however.

The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it started.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and is more effective on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require as much emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently, and it has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
