It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by a lot. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to start cleaning or recall the robot vacuums that mop or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic hoovers vacuums uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its app.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad.
