Door Handle Replacement

Door handles may seem like something minor but if you aren't happy with the style or design of them, or find them difficult to use, it's worth replacing them. With a bit of patience, you can put in an entirely new handle in a short time.

Modern door handles are often equipped with cover plates that hide the screws for an attractive appearance. If your new handle does not have screws already attached, you will have to attach them separately.

Removal of the Old Handle

Door handles are not only important for their aesthetic value to your home, but they're also essential for security as they let you lock and unlock your door. However, as time passes your door handle can lose its grip, appear loose, or appear old and worn. This is a sign that it's probably time to replace it.

The latch is the angled metal piece that moves between the hole in the inner edge of your door. When you turn the handle, it pushes the latch forward and allows you to open the door. You'll require a new cylinder for your lock if you're replacing the latch and handle, or your old one is damaged. Take off the cover plate
